On the 24th of September 2021 my team and I shot a music video titled Giveaway by an artiste called Saybyth.
It was a lovely Friday; the weather felt right, the sun hit the right angles and even the trees waved at us politely as we went about our many activities for the day. Emperor Estate which was the location of the video shoot here in Lagos Nigeria, welcomed our team with excitement that kept our creative juices flowing all through the video shoot.
The artiste soon arrived at the location and was given a brief for the music video shoot. He walked around to see where the scenes will be taking place and he loved everything he saw. When we started the set up his friends came through to support him and also came prepared to be part of the video shoot because they were needed.
Later on the main Vixen who was going to be performing with the artiste came as well and went straight to the make-up room to get ready for the shoot. When the set up and everything was ready we commenced the video shoot, starting with prayers because to God be all the glory and honour. Everything achieved was planned thoroughly.
From the smallest detail to the biggest of them all.
The first scene started with Saybyth and the Vixen who were captured as they walked down the street in slow motion. They both laughed and scrolled through the Vixen’s pictures on her phone. After that, other scenes followed as were written in the script.
Well in case you are yet to figure it out, technically what I am doing right now is honing a skill, “storytelling” which like art, requires creativity, strong imagination, vision, fantastic communication skills and of course practice and more practice in order to shine.
I love what I do and what I do loves me.

The artiste and his crew enjoyed themselves while they were on set as well as everyone else who was present for the music video shoot.
