First off, the message of the song is so deep and apt.🤏
It was a cloudy day when I got a call from Fome and he said “Omawumi wants to shoot a video”; that was the genesis.
I was super excited 😁
We scheduled a meeting and the meeting went fine.
She played some fire jams and I was blown away💨
“HEY!” You guys need to go listen to the album when it’s out, it is awesome.💯
We wrapped up the meeting, I went back to the board with my team, we designed a storyboard and sent it back to her.
She loved it and we were good to go!😎
Our intention for the storyboard was to make sure we didn’t depict literally what the song says because we wanted to use questionable narratives.😶
For example, I got questions about the unhappy young lady who was, on her knees with a big bowl on her head and the elderly man who was standing beside her and pouring a bottle of water tagged Bullshit into the bowl.😑
Normally, when a human goes down on his/her knees before another human willingly or otherwise, that shows submission right?😶
That picture depicts how the people thirst for a better life but the leaders fill them up with
Bullshit against their will.
My best part was the woman with the baby on her back. She had a big pan on the fire but nothing was cooking in the pan… 😶
This picture depicts the life of the average citizen with responsibilities who burns his or her fire out on education but gets no job opportunities at the end. 😢
