I’m here to gist some of us that are gist lovers🤣
My experience during this shoot and it’s pre-production timeline was epic🤯
First off, filming 2 Famous Artistes is a big deal,
So the plan for contingencies should be pushed up a notch.🙂
So I got a call from Fome! for a better understanding, fome is my manager.
Fome said to me “Frizzle! Waje wants to shoot ooo and the song is featuring Falz” I was like, that’s a great combo🧐 let me listen to the song.
Fome sent me the song immediately, I listened to it and I was fired up instantly 😳💯
Pictures started popping up in my head! Angles, lighting patterns, location and casts🥳
I was super excited and couldn’t wait for the project execution.😤
I took the project immediately and Waje made the payment for project🤑🤑🤑🤗 (What a sweet feeling)
I pushed the storyboard to Waje’s team and they loved it, I was excited and we commenced with the pre-production process.🙂
My first execution was the location.
I wanted a grungy basement that could give
me an action packed feeling when I watch.
Not too exposed but big enough to accommodate my intention to play with fire 🔥
I told my location manager to reachout to old Nepa office, that’s the place that best fit my vision because I shot there couple times.
We did our bookings and everything went well.🙂
Due to Falz’s schedule, we had to wait for falz to approve a date on a weekend because the location can only be accessed on weekends.
We eventually got a date from Falz and we sent the date to the location for verification.🤗🤗
The date was verified but a few days to the date the manager from the location called to inform us that their overall boss had already booked the location out himself for the same date and we just had to push our date.🥵😭😭😭
That’s impossible 😫 because Falz will be travelling the week after the week of shoot.
This was the point the pressure weighed in🥶🥶🥶
I got a call from Alex, (Alex is waje’s manager).
He said to me “Frizzle! I don’t know how you intend to do this but WE MUST SHOOT ON SUNDAY”😳 he said whatever location there is available is fine for as long as Waje and Falz are together in the video😶
In my mind, 🤔I was like, “what other location could beat our plan A”🤔
After our call, I called Fome and he said to me” Old defense building might work. We requested for pictures of the location and we got pictures of the old defense building.😒
If I had shot the video at the old defense building, I’m 💯 sure you viewers won’t like it.😐
The place just won’t work for the video!
So Fome suggested that we should setup a plan C but it will cost us more.
We decided that Fome will call the manager of the location as a new client to offer him more money way higher than the price of the space just so we can get the same date for our shoot.😅😂🤣
The man declined and said no amount of money can make him touch that date as his overall boss was the owner of the requested date so it’s a no go area😨😰😭🤧
At this point I called Alex and said to him that the only option left is to shift the date as there is no other location available to depict my vision because the finished product is more important to me and that’s what people get to see at the end of the day.😔
Alex requested for the pictures of the location because he doesn’t understand what’s so special about the location so much that no other location can work.😕
I sent the pictures of the location to him and he called me back to say “Frizzle! I think i understand better what you are trying to achieve, let me discuss with the team and get back to you but you need to call Waje and plead with her to convince Falz for a change of date”.😇😇😇
I called Waje and Waje accepted to step in🕺🕺🕺
Falz agreed to a change of date and that was how we overcame that challenge oooo😊😊😊😇😇
Thank God we did🙏
What else should I gist you about ooo☺
You see that vibes light in the background, we spent 1week back to back creating it🥵 thanks to Tunde my producer. One of the electricians that worked on it even passed on a week later😔😔😔 RIP (Monday)
Overall, the shoot was a huge success!!! We had fun on set. Falz came thru and did his part effortlessly.
Waje the one take Queen killed it.💯
The video will be released on the 2oth of may 2022.
